I'm psyched for tomorrow's Family Class- I just figured out what we are going to do & trust me boys its gonna be tough! My goal is to make the Dads sore & show just how strong the mommies have gotten. Even if you haven't joined us before come out & see what we are all about tomorrow, Buffalo Park, 9am... Be there.. And then, hit up Pickin' in the Pines... I'm so excited to go this year- we are NEVER here when it happens! Yay! or maybe, Yee Haw!
We had a question in class today that I wanted to share & elaborate on- One of our moms said "I'm not sore after class anymore, does that mean I'm not getting a good workout?"- Great question! And the quick answer is- NO! What this means is that you are stronger- your muscles have rebuilt themselves and they can handle more.
Does this mean you'll never be sore at Stroller Strides again? No! It just means you've made some fitness gains- be happy about that & give yourself a pat on the back. If you like that being sore feeling- grab a red tube, do the most intense version of each exercise- I promise you will feel it again!
The design of Stroller Strides is also partially to 'blame' for this phenomenon- A February study in the Journal of Strength & Conditioning Research found that mixing strength & aerobic activity reduces soreness AND boosts strength & aerobic gains. There is a reason we do those cardio bursts before our strength exercises...
So there you have it- a long answer to a short question.. Now lets all silently thank our squat jumps & all they do for us.. :)
